iPhone 15 alarm not working

i have two phones - a 14 for work and a 15 for personal. My morning alarm does not work on my 15, so I’ve now had to resort to using my 14 for my morning alarm. Time is set correctly, volume is turned ALL the way up and it still won’t go off. Apps are update. It’s got to be a bug in the new 15 operating system.

This really makes my first impressions of using the iPhone poor.

If the alarm volume is too low or quiet

Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch don’t affect the alarm sound. If you set your Ring/Silent switch to Silent or turn on Do Not Disturb, the alarm will still sound.

If your alarm doesn’t sound or is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:

  • Set the volume on your iPhone. If your alarm volume is too low or too loud, press the volume up or volume down button to adjust it. You can also go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the slider under Ringtone and Alert Volume.
  • If your alarm only vibrates, make sure your alarm sound isn’t set to None. Open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound.
  • If you connect headphones to your iPhone, the alarm will play at a set volume through the built-in speakers on your iPhone as well as wired and wireless headphones.

Manually adjusting the time on your iPhone in Settings to change app behaviour, such as game timers, isn’t recommended and can affect alarms.

I have an iphone 14 and have been dealing with this issue since summer 2023. I have 4 alarms set on my phone for the morning and they will randomly not go off, and its usually linked to a new update coming out. Every time theres a new update becomes available, my alarms become intermittent and just won’t go off once a week or so. Its never consistent. I’m so freaking frustrated because I am trying to get a job at my kids school and my kids have been late by a half hour 16 times this year because of this issue!!! Not to mention that once my son starts to take the bus, this will create a whole new issue because I can’t drive!!! Get this fricking fixed apple!!

My new iPhone 15 has the same issue. The alarm is “alarming “ or going off, etc and the phone makes no sound. However if i set a timer or a manual alarm to test it, then it makes sound. Luckily I’ve also got the watch and that vibrates, so I’ve not overslept too bad, but why would a company design a watch and a phone with alarms nobody can HEAR?

i tried the Apple support a couple of times and that was a ridiculous experience, the first thing they wanted me to do was to reset my phone.

Same issue here. I believe I found the issue. When the alarm goes off and I turn my face in the direction of my phone, it automatically goes into that silent mode and stays there. The screen still shows the alarm is going off but no sound. My theory is when I roll over in bed, not even close to being awake, the phone recognizes my face and puts it in this mode, which obviously causes significant issues bc I’m not awake enough to even register that the alarm is going off.

Last night I put the phone on the charger on my night stand and then turned the phone away from my direction so it couldn’t pick up my face - and that worked. The alarm went off normal.

Just playing with the phone and the alarm, if I set an alarm and it goes off, it continues to go off until I hit the button. However, when the alarm starts going off and I put my face in view of the front of the phone, the alarm goes into that silent mode without me touching anything.

Try turning your phone away from you at night so it can’t perform the face recognition or turn that feature off.

Same problem here, ringer was on, volume was on, alarm was set for 7:30. I wake up confused as to why it’s so sunny and I check my phone to see my alarm hadn’t even gone off and it’s 8:30. Apple has had so many small problems since they added their new wallpaper editor but this one is just completely unacceptable. What kind of smart phone (let alone the most expensive one) doesn’t have a functional alarm system??
