iPhone 15 alarm not working

i have two phones - a 14 for work and a 15 for personal. My morning alarm does not work on my 15, so I’ve now had to resort to using my 14 for my morning alarm. Time is set correctly, volume is turned ALL the way up and it still won’t go off. Apps are update. It’s got to be a bug in the new 15 operating system.

Same problem. I just switched from android to IPhone 15 Pro. I happend to me twice. My morning alarm was silent. No vibrations. But the alarm was showing on the screen. volume levels are fine. it happen Only for morning alarms. Other alarms work fine.

This really makes my first impressions of using the iPhone poor.

Yes it is very frustrating.

This is an on-going software problem Apple has yet to fix. They are very aware of the problem and are working on it.

I bought mine in September and called for help 5 times. We verified the problem even rebooted my phone twice.

Their advice was to find an alarm app and download it until the problem is fixed.

Note: there are lots of fixes shown here and many will work...for a while. The software problem is insidious and will come back in a week or so. If it is like mine it will start by missing occasionally or only play one "note" for a week or so before stopping completely. Very random.

I went to settings and typed "sound" in the search bar. Scroll down to Sound Recognition, click on it. Then click "back" in the upper left hand corner. Scroll down to Face ID & Attention. click. Then disable "Require Attention for Face ID" and "Attention Aware Features". It may work if only "Attention Aware Features" is disabled. I have tried it yet, but since I don't use Face ID, I just disabled them both. I have tried it several times and the alarm seems to stay on with volume...

After I updated to iOS 17 my alarm stopped making noise too, but only for my first alarm of the day at 5:30am. It would work just fine for all of my other scheduled alarms throughout the day. I tried for months to fix it using recommendations from various online sources, with no success.

I finally fixed it by doing a factory reset. No issues with my alarm working ever since (just a pain to have to personalize all my settings over again)!

I believe I finally found the correct solution on a Reddit thread. After fixing this my alarm has worked correctly for the last week. Go into settings and disable standby mode. I’ve had this issue for months and debated switching to Android. I don’t understand why Apple didn’t roll out a quick solution for something so many of us use.

I’m so sorry I switched from my S23 FE. I did because I have trouble hearing and it became too hard to understand Samsung. I have 4 hearing disorders and the pain trying to communicate with people with accents has become a severe problem. My problem not there’s. This iPhone Pro Max 15 is overpriced nothing but problems since I bought it. Battery draining fast. Slow to charge. Now no matter the alarm sound or how loud it either doesn’t ring or sound way to low. It’s hard to highlight & control the curser making writing a text message way too long. Apple wants money for everything. Few widgets, most Apps cost money. It’s a very expensive phone that has a lot of problems, but also a lot of bells and whistles but I cannot do the simple things I need to do. I did ask but the Apple rep didn’t know what he was talking about. I really want to go back to android’s as soon as possible. While iPhone supports longer and gives security patches longer it’s just not worth it.

Yes these bozos at Apple have managed to over think and screw up one of the most basic features. The alarm used to be independent of the sound ‘ringer’ - in other words if I set my alarm to a specific sound volume, it would work, independent of whether I have my volume set to low because I don’t want to be bothered while I sleep or work but I do actually have to get up to work so the dang alarm SHOULD be independent of all- LOLOL …but now it seems there’s this strange interplay between the actual volume button for the ringer and the alarm and I can’t figure out which one overrides the other…oh and I tried to select a song (‘Son of a Sailor’) for my alarm to experiment but it would revert to some space sounding alarm- I guess the folks at Apple don’t like Jimmy Buffett either 😆 Regardless, the good folks at Apple have completely over engineered this expensive product… or maybe ‘mis engineered’ (if that’s even a word, but it seems to apply to the team at Apple…) It’s absolutely ridiculous.
