Do I need a special Magic Mouse for my Mac OS Sierra? Will Magic Mouse 2 work?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.12

You shouldn't need a "special" Magic Mouse to work with a Mac that is still running macOS Sierra.

The Magic Mouse 2 requires, at least, OS X El Capitan ... one version older than your current Sierra.

Thanks Tesserex, My new puppy specializes in chewing up electronics and she managed to mangle my mouse. I'm going to get a new one on EBay.
