Lost phone. Find my says phone is at home but it’s outside wifi, turned off or without connection?

Hi,

I need help. I posted info in my area about lost phone during walk with dog.

For 2 days I saw that my phone is nearby with satus Home, but building cameras show that i lost is probably elsewhere. I marked it as lost as soon as I noticed that it’s missing. Now it’s not visible anywhere as you see on screenshot. Can someone explain it? It was shown here as last known location? Could it be on airplane mode? Someone erased it finaly today?

Hmm, the short answer is that the battery might be dead. About all that you can do is to keep checking:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen

It's wierd because every time I opened Find my it somehow set it to home status. I couldn't connect with it and router did't saw it also. It's not here, cameras show that it wasn't at my pocket on way back. I checked at home everywhere. It should at least show location outside building when was lost, right?

Same thing happened to me. Find my iphone says it was at home and my iwatch was also “connected” to it so I turned my place upside down only to find out that it was left in an uber far away. Why does this happen? I was made to have false hope that it was just at home.
