Recovering Deleted Messages:

What to Consider:

A. View Recently Deleted:

As of the release of iOS16, Recently Deleted is a folder included in the iOS. So, check in there.

B. Restore from Today's Backup:

Restore your iPhone from a backup of it that contains these messages, and you could recover them. Note that the backup needs to be of the same iOS as what is currently installed, as you cannot downgrade to an earlier iOS version.

C. Check Messages App:

If messages was enabled on your iPhone along with your Apple computer, then check and see if the Messages app is enabled on your Mac to see if it exists in it. You'd start up your Mac, not connecting to the Internet, and open the Massages app. Then proceed from there with retrieving it. Important: Be certain you do not connect to the Internet while booting up, as syncing would delete it. So, power off your router to avoid the connection.

Elsewise, if they're gone, they're gone. That's just the way it is :(

So depending on what device you are using will depend what functions the device will show but if you do back up your messages from iCloud then you can restore these from my back up via iTunes or resetting your device and selecting irrelevant back up if you have an iPhone X and higher model then you should have the function to see recently deleted messages been on olde models is not available hope this helps if you need any further assistance please feel free to reach out
