My FaceTime camera goes grey on my screen and is frozen for the other person

The title describes it. It happens majority of the time I use FaceTime, though not every time. It happens more often if I am on a Facetime call and then open other apps at the same time.

I did reboot my phone. The issue persists. My network connection is good and it happens on both wifi and cellular data. My partner's connection is also good and it also happens on wifi and cellular data on that side.

It was recommended so I did delete and reinstall FaceTime, now it shows a blurred camera on my side 100% of the time and a frozen screen to my partner.

Bare in mind throughout all of this my partner's camera is working fine the entire time and it has never happened to them.

iPhone 12, iOS 17
