Which system version do you now have installed? Is the version shown below your question still valid? macOS 12.7 ?

There are no separate updates for Photos for Mac. The Photos.app is installed as a part of the system software. You should be finding the current version of Photos, compatible with your system, in the Applications folder. iPhoto does no longer run on macOS 12.7, but you should still be able to open your iPhoto Library in Photos - macOS 12 is the last system version that will allow you to open iPhoto Libraries in Photos for Mac. Lauch Photos while holding down the options key ⌥, and when you are seeing the dialog to select a library release the options key and select your iPhoto Library. Does that work?

Your signature indicates that you're using the OS Monterey-- is that true? Photos in Monterey could open an iPhoto library directly ( I think ) but Photos in Ventura and Sonoma won't. Instead you can import the iPhoto pictures with the File>Import command.

The Photos app comes with the OS-- you can't upgrade the operating system without getting the Photos app. It would normally be already in the Dock-- the icon looks like this.

If you don't see it in the dock, then look for it in the applications folder. It's gotta be there.
