I wake up in the morning to my phone with low battery and really hot

I have an iPhone 13 and have recently started waking up to my phone under my pillow (where I always leave it over night) super hot, and when I look at the screen to check the time it is always around 30% battery, even though at night it was around 70%. I never charge my phone overnight, so that's not a reason for overheating- and anyways, if it was charging overnight the battery wouldn't be so low in the morning. Not sure what's going on??? Only got this phone like 4 months ago

Try NOT leaving it under your pillow and see if that makes a difference. Do you have your phone powered off? If not, it will be doing things in the background and those create heat. Having it under your pillow means it is insulated and cannot lose that heat = hot.
