Unable to send email from my Iphone 11 using Charter.net. I contacted my carrier as well as my phone provider and neither can fix the problem. It is a recent problem and Spectrum doesn't seem to be able to fix it and said to contact Apple. Also, the same problem on my IPad. Incoming mail works fine.

iPhone 11, iOS 16

First, we need to see if it is a POP or IMAP account:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap Mail
  • Tap Accounts
  • Tap the name of the account
  • It will say one of the following: IMAP, POP, Exchange, or the name of the provider, such as gmail, yahoo
  • If it does NOT say POP, scroll down and tap Delete Account
  • Now restart your phone→Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  • Unlock the phone with the passcode
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Mail
  • Tap Accounts
  • Tap Add Account
  • Tap Other
  • Tap Add Mail Account
  • Fill out the form
  • Tap Next and fill out the remaining information

If it DOES say POP then deleting and re-adding will result in the loss of all email in that account on the phone, so instead tap SMTP

  • Tap the name of the primary server, or if it is blank check the Spectrum site for instructions on the server name and the information to enter
  • Fill out the form with all information, even fields that say "optional"
