I have an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020). I need to add a USB hub for printer, scanner, etc.
Do I need to buy a USB 3.0 hub or can I get away with USB 2.0?
I tried the the NXT Tech USB 2.0 4-Port Travel Hub, which is powered by USB, but I get this error message:
USB Accessory Needs Power. Connect "Apple USB . . ." to a USB port on this Mac.

Set a self powered hub from OWC (MacSales.com). I'd call their Customer Support and see which one of their many hubs they would recommend that would fit your particular Mac model/year, work requirements and budget.
OWC is considered to be the premier 3rd party hardware supplier for Macs by most the the long time contributors here.
Just get a self powered hub. I have used several from Amazon and no issues.
