Purchased an iPhone 15 Pro Max to replace my iPhone 12 Pro Max.
when setting up it asks if you want to transfer from the old phone but then it asks which back up you want to use. The process of updating from a back up seems to be taking ages. It looks like the password aren’t transferring to the new phone. Do I have to wait until the update from the iCloud is complete? Key chain is switched on.

If you had iCloud Keychain turned on in the old phone you can turn it on from the new phone. “Ages” is a rather amorphous time range; restoring from a computer backup can take a few hours if you have a lot of music to sync, but other than that it should go pretty quickly.
