To watch Apple TV+ (even just previews) in a desktop web browser I am forced to carry an Apple "device" with me

I just want to sign in to Apple TV+ on a desktop computer via a web browser and at least watch previews of programs. But just to sign in I am forced to have with me my one and only genuine Apple device, an iPad. I do not carry the iPad with me everywhere I go (particularly to work or to the homes of other people). How can I authenticate myself in a desktop PC web browser without having have an active, powered-on, active Apple device to receive the prompt to which I have to respond in order to get the "code" digits?

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 15

I don't use Windows but am surprised that you need the code every time. Do you have an Android phone that you carry with you? If so, you can make it a "trusted phone number" and get the Apple two-factor authentication code sent to it. See the information on adding trusted phone numbers in Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

and see the following for how to request a code: Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

To use the trusted phone number you need to follow the instructions in the "Get a text or phone call" section of Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support each time you want a code to be sent to your number. There isn't an option to automatically have it go to the trusted phone number instead of a trusted device every time.

I have (long had) a "trusted phone number" (presumably for two-factor authentication). The problem is that Apple only contacts my iPad with a pop-up on which I have to touch OK and then it shows me the 6-digit code. I cannot get rid of this "Apple Device" (obviously, nor would I want to), but there seems to be no way to tell Apple that I prefer to get 2FA authentication requests on my smartphone.
