Won’t let me burn purchased music to CD

Why won’t iTunes let me burn a CD with music I purchased from the iTunes Store?

Mary Catherine,

Put the playlist in Songs view, enable the "Kind" column, and make sure every track is really a purchased copy (or other non-protected format).

Even if you purchased that exact song, it may have gotten substituted by an Apple Music subscription copy, which is not eligible to burn.

Where is the "kind" column? I don't see it

Hi MC,

If it is not already enabled, do the following:

  1. Open the playlist you are trying to burn.
  2. Go to the View menu and set for View > As Songs.
  3. Go to the View menu again and choose View > Show View Options. When the dialog comes up, check the box for "Kind."

Once you have Kind enabled, you can see if those are all Purchased tracks.
