I just finished Adobe Ae and now using FCPX and Motion on my MacBook Pro M1 Max 32gB I’m finding lag when editing in motion in after effects you can assign external ssd to media cache but I can’t seem to find a way in Motion. External SSD sped up Ae dramatically. Anyone, ideas, suggestions? Thanks

Your internal drive in the M1 Max is much faster than most external SSD, so even if there is that option (which I am not aware of), I doubt that it would speed things up.
Slow down in playback can be countered by doing Mark->RAM Preview and creating a Ram preview of a selection or the whole timeline.

Thanks for that I also noticed when I lowered the resolution from 3840 to 1920. The edits sped up.
