Someone got my iphone number and used my apple store information to buy something

This person used my phone number and credit card information to make an apple store purchase. I got a text message notifying me about this I thought it was fake but then saw the charges on my credit card. I immediately called my bank to report this. I also called Apple to report this as well. My bank is investigating it and they say it could take up to 2 billing cycles to resolve it. I called Apple back to see if there was an update and was told I had to contact my bank. I did and was told to check my messages to see if the bank needed any other information from me. I saw nothing after a few weeks. I just called Apple back to see if they had the name of the person that made this purchase and when they picked it up. The nice person at Apple gave me this information. Do I need to call Law enforcement to track this person or will my bank or Apple do this?

Also, I know this was done locally so I'm trying to figure out how they got my information. Occasionally I use bluetooth but only when I'm walking my dog. I don't go out for coffee and I don't habitually frequent places with public wifi. Anyone have an idea?

Apple gave you the name of the person who made the charge?? That does not sound like Apple at all. I have seen people report cases that were at least as serious as yours and the one thing Apple will not do is release any kind of private information. In cases of fraud they do not get involved at all.

Since this is (from your description) a case of simple fraudulent use of your card, it has nothing to do with Apple really. As far as Apple is concerned a valid purchase was made with the card. You need to do all the steps in resolving this with your bank.

Note that nobody responding to you here works for Apple, I just know what I have seen in many years of reading posts. ;-)

I verified that the phone number associated with the purchase on my charge card is an Apple number.
They did indeed give me the person's name.
I called back later and was given an associated email with this fraudulent purchase. (it wasn't mine)
Apple claims to work with law enforcement in resolving this.
It has everything to do with a fraudulent charge associated with an apple store purchase - the "buyer" picked up the purchase and thus stole from Apple.
This purchase has already been flagged as a fraudulent purchase.
