Google search engine for iPad

I use the safari app web browser, which uses Google to search. Recently I have noticed that when I type for a specific topic the results Google returns bare no relationship to the words I have typed. I have changed the search engine in settings and strangely enough I can search again for my specific topics. Yahoo is reasonable, I find bing too disjointed and ecosia while a good search engine has its own issues in that when you click the shopping tab it only shows results from Amazon. Unfortunately I never buy from this company so that’s pretty useless also. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get Google to return the results I’m typing?
