Does Verizon carrier locked iphone 14 bought from Apple store still qualify for the Black Friday gift card 2023

I have read conflicting posts about this. I want to purchase at my local Apple store an iPhone 14, my carrier will be Verizon. The phone is advertised on the apple store website as $699. I also understand that I will be charged for the free gift card upon checking out. Will I be charged $699 plus $75 total of $774, then minus $75 (discount) for a final total of $699, and then physically receive a gift card in the amount of $75 to spend later? I plan to buy an Apple watch 9.

Does it matter if it won't be an unlocked phone but instead be a Verizon phone? Thanks for any help.

Choosing Verizon as your carrier does not mean it will be locked to it. Apple does not sell locked Phone's except if you choose to buy it using AT&Ts installment plan.
Yes, choosing Verizon still qualifies for the gift card.
You will get a $75 dollar discount on the price of the iPhone first, so it will be $624 and then be charged $75 for the gift card in the same transaction. Your total will be $699 plus taxes. You can then use the $75 gift card for any future purchase including an Apple Watch yes.
