How to fix "No Internet Connection" error on App Store after iOS 17.1.1 update

After updating to iOS 17.1.1 on my iPhone 12 Pro App Store gives the message "No internet connection". And yes, there is internet connection. I am on wifi. All other apps work as far as I can tell.

i rebooted my phone but still not able to get to App Store

the message further says my phone is not connected to internet and directs me to the settings app to turn off airplane mode (which is not on) or turn on WiFi (which I cannot since internet is down)

If you're getting a "No Internet Connection" error on the App Store after updating to iOS 17.1.1, but other apps are working fine, try these steps:


1. Check cellular data settings by going to Settings > App Store and ensure that cellular data is enabled if you're not on Wi-Fi.

2. Sign out and back in by going to Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases, then tap sign out. Restart your phone and sign back in.

3. Reset network settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi, cellular, and VPN settings.

4. Check your VPN or proxy settings, as these can sometimes interfere with the App Store connection. Make sure they're turned off in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.


These steps should help resolve the issue, as it seems to be a software-related issue introduced by the update.

When I drop my VPN, Apple News works fine. It's possible some of you have the same issue.

When I reconnect my VPN during a successful session, Apple news loses contact again.

One of my peeves is when my VPN gets met with "not connected" or "site not available" and the rejecting site or app provides no further insight. Even a list of possible reasons would be better than that. Whenever I encounter a problem like this, it takes some time before I iterate to the "gee, I wonder if they rejected my VPN" solution.
