Seeking Assistance for rattling AirPods Pro Sound Issue Under Service Program

Hello,

I purchased my AirPods Pro in December 2020, and I've been experiencing a persistent rattling noise in the right earbud, especially noticeable during movements like when I’m on a bus ride. I just learned about the AirPods Pro Service Program for sound issues and I reached out to Apple Support. They initially confirmed that my AirPods should qualify for the program as they were manufactured before October 2020 and we are still within 3 years after purchase. However, the system later contradicted this, indicating I was not eligible.

I am reaching out to the community for guidance and any similar experiences. Has anyone faced a similar discrepancy? If so, how did you resolve it? Any advice on navigating this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Rattling AirPods:

A. Get this Serviced:

Go Here: AirPods Repair & Service - Apple Support


B. Time for a New Pair?:

Seems nothing can really be done from your end. So, either get a new pair, or just keep turning off noise cancelling and transparency mode.


C. Report this Fix to Apple Via Feedback:

Do your Part: Inform Apple of this fix. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, to get the word out to them, report it to them. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - AirPods - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that turning off noise cancelling and transparency mode, is a fix. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

I reset the AirPods, updated to the latest firmware and the issue is also present when I am not connected to any devices and audio does not have to be playing. The only thing that "fixes" the issue is turning off noise cancelling and transparency mode."

If there is rattling, then it may be things such as earwax. Using a toothpick, tap at it gently, seeing if you slowly can pull junk out of it.
