Using an iPod with an external hard drive
Hello there I hope that you can help me please? Can I say from the outset that I am NOT technically minded so would appreciate if advice etc was kept simple and avoided technical terms.
- I have an iPod Classic with about 4,000 songs.
- iTunes is on my laptop but due to memory size etc it is unable to cope with the transfer of 4,000 songs . So iTunes is empty and I cannot add more songs to the iPod.
- I have copied my library from my iPod via iPod Control to an external hard drive.
- I need to sync my iPod with the new library on the external hard drive. How do I do that please?
- The laptop is of no use, as it cannot accomodate the transfer of files.
- Do I still need to involve an empty iTunes Library in this process.
Apologies if this is very obvious but I am confused. To sum up how do I sync a library on an external hard drive with an iPod without involving iTunes on a laptop.
