Why the ugly gray screen in the IOS 17 update

The gray call screen that occurred after the IOS 17 update is horrible! The buttons that were in a very comfortable position at the top are now at the bottom and have been put in a different order! There is much GRAY BLANK space between the number being called and the buttons at the bottom. That gray is depressing!! WHO decided that iPhone users would be happy with this transition? This is a change not an update that was not thought out carefully. It’s unappealing and I cannot see the purpose that it serves.

I am NOT not pleased with this change and I am sure other iPhone users are not pleased.

I don’t mind necessary updates but this was not an update but a cosmetic changed masked buy a security update!

Now what needs to happen is another update to change the screen back to where it was before this change!

My residence has a double entry lock and visitors have to click my name which results in an automatic phone call to which I have to answer by clicking '*' to let them enter. I did that so automatically that I had not to think about it, now with that new incoming call screen I meddle my fingers at each visit.

Also, before, when you were setting a timer, it displayed it's expiration o'clock, now you have to calculate it mentally.

Was that change really necessary and if so, why? Interface changes should be submitted to a community vote.
