How to apply an effect only to the opaque area of a clip in FCPX?

For example, say that in FCP I have a solid generator and on top of that I design an alpha mask.

Then, I want to apply e.g. the border effect but I only want it to be applied to the border of the mask.

How to do that?

I've published the Motion filter Stroke for this purpose:

Effects are "layer ordered", so where in the list of effects it appears will determine how it behaves. You can always click-drag effects to change the order in which they appear in the list.

Sure thing!

As you see there is a generator with a corner mask. Nothing special really.

Then, I applied a Simple Border effect.

However, the effect is not applied only to the opaque part but it is applied to the whole clip.

In this example, I wish the Simple Border to be applied only to the surrounding of the resulting shape.

Nevertheless, in general, I wish to understand how to apply effects only to masked parts.
