hijacking my computer

I was told to turn on iCloud drive incorrectly by someone at Apple so that I could remote access from another computer. I do NOT want all my desktop and files transferred to and from iCloud!! Why is there no warning? Why would any company transfer my own files off of my own local computer??

Turn it off. Your files remain on your Mac, they just sync with iCloud across devices. I suspect that the person you spoke with thought that you wanted to sync your devices, not just access one remotely.
