Hi dyonn111,

Welcome to your new Mac! Here's how to erase it and set it up fresh.

  1. Power on or restart your Mac while holding Option-Command-R. Release the keys when a spinning globe appears, or when you're prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Your Mac will download macOS Recovery from the Internet. Wait until an Apple logo and progress bar appear.
  3. A list of utilities should appear. Choose Disk Utility and continue.
  4. In Disk Utility, choose View -> Show All Devices.
  5. Select the top level of the internal drive (APPLE SSD) and select Erase. Choose these options, then Erase:
    1. Name: Macintosh HD
    2. Format: APFS
    3. Scheme: GUID Partition Table/Map
  6. When the erase is complete, quit Disk Utility.
  7. The list of utilities should now reappear. Choose Install macOS and follow the onscreen instructions.

Once macOS is installed, you'll arrive at the Setup Assistant. Complete the onscreen instructions to set up your Mac as your own.

Hope this helps!
