CarPlay Music Volume lower with iOS 17

Go to Settings->Music. Turn off Sound Check. Not sure why Apple enabled this by default, but turning that off fixed it for me.

I also found under settings>sound>guidance>navigation alerts. If I unchecked this, the music will keep its volume when navigation is on. Hope this helps.

Shut off the sound check and then reboot your phone. Worked for me

I started running into the super low volume issue in CarPlay after the latest OS update. Had to fix while driving. I turned off the radio, CarPlay Maps still active. When directions came on, I increased the radio volume. Then I could hear again whether radio was off or on. Not really sure why.

Update - I toggled sound check on and off 40-50 times and everything is back to normal now. Not sure if this is the cause but thought I would share.

Nice. Fixed it for me. Thought I was losing my mind, until I turned on a radio station and realized the volume issue was with CarPlay.

That fix did not work for me. I’ve seen others report this same problem as a bug, but have not found an alternative fix that solves low volume issue.

Worked for me! Now need to re adjust my EQ levels on stereo.
