CarPlay Music Volume lower with iOS 17

I’ve noticed since I’ve updated to iOS 17 that my audio volume for music is a lot lower than before. I have to turn my car volume up quite a bit more than with iOS 16. Any fix for this?

Go to Settings->Music. Turn off Sound Check. Not sure why Apple enabled this by default, but turning that off fixed it for me.

Apple Music volume at 50% while plugged into car. The recent update has made Apple Music more quiet in my car. My cars volume has a dial from 0-40. 30 used to be the max. Now, with the most recent update (17.1.1), 40 is still quieter than the old 30. Volume drops drastically on bass hits with apple carplay I just bought a new car (audi a3 2017) that has Apple carplay. The speakers and sub are perfect if i am using the radio or if i use the bluetooth media player. If i connect the usb to my iphone 13 pro, and go into apple carplay the music sounds way different. When the bass hits in a song, the volume goes down a lot. It sounds as if almost the bass cancels the other speakers to work. This issue is not only on spotify, but also on soundcloud, youtube etc.

Carplay Volume Music Hey guys, I got a problem and its annoying. When I connect to CarPlay (wired & wireless) and play music the volume adjusts it self. There does not appear a volume bar in the screen or anything but it goes automatically harder/lower. My friend also has CarPlay and hers work fine. Did have the same problem with my Iphone 11 and now the 13 pro max aswell. On my car & her car. Any solutions? Btw listening music connected with Bluetooth connection (Not connected with CarPlay) does not have this problem

sound check was not on but volume is so low I cannot hear it while driving. Just started today… only happens when CarPlay is connected. Any ideas?

Only needed to toggle ‘off’ once and fixed as guided by @JABooJones in first few replies.

I think that only works if you are using Apple Music. My issue with the volume occurs on any music played with CarPlay. Only hit the issue after upgrading to 17.4.1

This issue literally self-corrected one day. I made no changes so not sure what resolved it. But, happy to be enjoying CarPlay once again!
