iOS 17.1.1 Issues on iPhone

Made a forum account literally to add to the noise in hopes this will be fixed. This update made playing music a headache. I mostly listen in the car, and I have to significantly raise the volume from what I did prior to this update, and on top of that the bass is cut by a ton. Even worse I've found is that for some reason it's like every song that plays rolls a dice on how functional it will be. I will be playing songs from the same album, and the first song will sound quiet with no bass, but then the next song about blows my eardrums out because it decided to be a functioning song, then the next one is quiet but the bass is there. I had these same issues with the speakers at my job which ended up being a headache when one moment a song would be an appropriate level, and the next people are having to plug their ears until the volume is dropped. I am also having issues with hearing people in phone calls.

Has to be the worst update ever. Both mine and my wife’s 12Pro Max are messed up. Many volume issues. Either can’t hear the callers at all or barely hear. Resetting Network Settings only works till I receive another call. I have callers set to show up full screen. That no longer works. Too many things to mention. 👎

My wife’s phone was updated with 17.1.1, and now has many problems. Apps that were working fine no longer work, the App Store doesn’t recognize her face or her unlock code, so no downloading apps or app updates. This is a terrible update. Need a fix immediately!

I'd stay on that for a while until all of the bugs are resolved, especially the battery drainage ones.

I too have had a mostly negative experience since the update. Deleted voicemail messages were restored on my iPhone, volume is horrible, this morning I was unable to make phone calls until I rebooted the phone! I never had an issue with any prior reboots.

For your custom emoji try going into settings, general, keyboards, emoji and turned off stickers. Then when you are texting tap the + next to the iMessage box and tap on stickers, your custom emojis should pop up. If you want the talking Memoji scroll down from there and tap on that icon.

I haven't had any problems with the charging, I have an 11.

Just updated mine. Not sure how many annoying issues I'm going to find. But, right off the bat, I go to my texts, and at least half of my contacts are now just phone numbers!!!! The names and other relevant information is gone!!! Now, I have to go through all my messages and contacts and try to get them all back! What a waste of my time!! Thanks a lot Apple!!!! My phone was working perfectly prior to this install so I say you are incorrect but who's right and who's wrong doesn't matter...what matters is when are they going to fix this issue because I have almost smashed this thing several times out of frustration.

i updated 2 days ago. Nothing but issues. Face ID function gone!!! Won’t allow to redo. Screen went completely blank yesterday!!!

what the heck Apple on this day and age these issues should not be happening. Updates should make our phones better not worse like you did for many and many and many of us. Fix it.

Since this update two days ago the notification sounds are all changed and the ones I used to use are gone , please apple don’t tell me it’s my phone because it is Your update!!!

I just realized that my alarm clock sound has changed. I had it set as a song but now it’s whatever you changed it to and I don’t see anyway of being able to change it back. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 You shouldn’t be able to change personal set things.

I’ve already complained about everything you’ve screwed up before. I agree with everyone on here complaining.

Fix! Your! Mistakes!

Just found another glitch. Before I upgraded to 17.1.1, I could swipe up to do a screen capture and then send it via gmail. Now it fails to open an email format so you can choose a recipient. It just enlarges the bottom half of the screen capture. What a lousy piece of software. Do better, Apple!!

And even just in messaging- try editing back if the start of a medium to long message-just impossible to get the cursor to go where it’s supposed to- just won’t go far enough back. Cursed this update from Day 1!!!!

Yep my phone updated by itself the other night 1 week after purchasing it, and now it is so slow and laggy, so fu!!ed off! does anyone know if apple will be able to fix that? Or is my phone now permanently slow.

IOS 17.1.1 totally messed up my iPhone. It is continually locking up. When it locks up, it’s almost impossible to reboot. This happens numerous times a day. It happens every time if the phone sits overnight. I can no longer rely on the alarm system. This update has been horrific. I can only hope 17.1.2 comes out very quickly and fixes this mess.
