iOS 17.1.1 Issues on iPhone

I updated to 17.1.1, and yes, everything was scrambled, but I got that all that sorted out. My main problem now is that Siri constantly misses entire phrases right in the middle of a text. I'm pretty sure I haven't changed the way I talk, so Apple, can you get working on that?

The ios 16 is ridiculous!

My call screen, my contacts,my recent calls, vm actions are all different. Everything has changed. Deleting, incoming calls, everything looks different!

If I had known this was going to make such a big change, I would have opted to NOT load the ios 16!

My phone seems slower and web sites are glitching!

Apple needs to correct this!

worst upgrade ever. Don’t do it. The Uconnect to my truck is suddenly very glitchy. The phone is hesitant and slow. Weird lock ups in emails.

I don’t know why anyone would want the 17.1.1 just to mess up their life.

yes your iPhone was on automatic updates!! You had the option to turn this feature off !! It happened to me on one iPhone !! I caught it on my others !! It’s awful!! Make sure your button is off !!

if you have other iPhones !! Go to general then updates

look for automatic updates on or off button!! Switch it to off !’ That’s the issue !! You can not reverse it so do not try or else it will destroy your iPhone! Spectrum told me to go to reset’

never ever do that !! It will erase your data and other information!! ℹ️

I read email and the news in the morning and catch up on social media. Before I upgraded to 17.1.1, I used about 30-40% of the battery. Now it’s 70% for the same usage. My settings have always been set to minimize battery drainage, and I don’t see any changes to those, so this must be the new OS at work. Gah.

Updated to the 17.1.1. FindMy is totally worthless now. All of my Tags are missing and I cannot reload them! This is extremely frustrating AND really can be a major problem if our tagged items go missing!!!!!

The Poster feature in Contacts is ridiculous! The ability to make a selection (email, text, etc) at the top is useful BUT those bold contact’s initials have got to go!!!! Put back our Contacts photo (where those **** initials are!)!!!!!!

And I’m sure, from others complaints, that I haven’t seen all the bugs yet!

Was this release even tested?!!!!!

The poster feature is awful! Awful looking and awful functioning. Why does everything have to enclosed in a box? It looks terrible. And I don’t ever go to a contact first then choose a function from there. I choose my function THEN the person. I didn’t think they could make it look worse than it already did but apparently they are experts at this.

I agree. The poster feature is so unnecessary and now everything is grey unless you manually change each contact. I like to see the face of who’s calling but nooooo, Apple had to change it all and make it grey. There are so many other issues, this is low priority but why did they have to mess with it?

I am ****** I lost every photo on my contacts. Not only that my volume doesn’t work half the time. My phone will drop calls. No I have not been having that problem before the update. When I get a text my phone does not alert me with a sound. Just wondering can you delete this update?

Those from Apple that refuse to believe all these issues are not due to the update have their heads in the sand. There are so many issues that started immediately after the upgrade. Discounting them is an insult to us all. We are not all making this stuff up and we are not idiots that just want to complain. Many of us are intelligent individuals adept at working through issues. None of the work arounds work. This upgrade was a serious DOWNGRADE. Many of the main functions of the iPhone no long work, rendering the phone nearly useless in some respects. We respectfully ask that you stop ignoring all of these complaints and fix them. This is the most expensive phone out there and in many ways it is no longer usable. I’m very tired of having to leave the room for a business call, because the only way I can hear the caller is to put the call on speaker. This is an essential function of the phone. And no, don’t ask me to check the speaker for lint or obstructions. All the issues are related to the upgrade. Everything was fine prior to. Please fix these issues for those of us that depend on our phones for work and everyday life.

They’ll make us wait a couple more weeks until we’re really inconvenienced. Always have a backup plan. And NEVER put all your eggs in one basket.

APPLE fix this issue. The lame 17.1.2 didn’t fix it

Hello! I'm here (again) to report that last night -- in an effort to possibly mitigate some of the issues that my iPhone 13 Pro has been experiencing due to the recent iOS 17.1.1 update -- I foolishly installed the emergency update 17.1.2. And this morning, I've been watching my battery drain at the rate of 1% every 5-6 minutes. There are no apps running in the background, it's just me, staring at the battery percentage bar going down as I take screenshots along the way.

I estimate that at this rate, the phone will have gone from 100% down to 0% within 10 hours.

The newest 17.1.2 update contains an urgent fix to address some security vulnerabilities. Before you install it, be aware that it may result in rapid battery depletion.

I guess I'm fortunate. My phone is so old that it didn't update. So, I have only my iPad to complain about. After music not playing on it since the 17.1.1 update, I continue to have the same problem after it updated to 17.1.2. What should I do? Will a visit to the Apple store help? I doubt it. I was considering buying an iPad mini this season. Well, that intention is gone. I won't be buying another Apple product, and I will be advising everyone I know to do the same. Because what good is having an Apple device if it doesn't work the way it should, and Apple customer "service" appears to be nonexistent? I am at a loss as to how to get my iPad fixed. Shame on you, Apple, for this fiasco.

Came here to see if the 17.1.2 update would fix the problems from 17.1.1, but looks like no. My phone updated to 17.1.1 without asking me; usually I have waited to do the updates, but somehow my phone was set to auto-update. I have changed it back to manual updates, and I am going to wait - I am afraid to do something that could even make it worse!

I’ve run into a problem since updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 17.1.1. I’m using the Apple Lightning-USB 3.0 Adapter to connect my phone with a Helix HEC HD-Audio USB-Interface in my car. This was working perfectly until the recent iOS update.

Now, when I connect my iPhone with this specific adapter, I get an incompatibility message, a problem I didn’t encounter with earlier iOS versions. Has anyone else experienced this with the Apple Lightning-USB 3.0 Adapter? Any ideas on how to fix this, or is Apple aware and planning a fix in a future update?
