iOS 17.1.1 Issues on iPhone

My phones volume is ALL MESSED UP. Connected to Bluetooth in my car? can hardly hear, but all volumes are maxed.

connect to my AirPods? Music is fine, but all notifications of any kind are SO GD LOUD I can’t wear them.

volume is low, but 50% of the day my keyboard clicks were so loud I had to silence my phone. I didn’t even know that the clicks could be that loud! It was insane!

all my ringtones and alert sounds are changed/different - not a fan.

anyone else experiencing any of these issues?

I had NO issues with my iphone sounds prior to the iOS 17.1.1 update. The upgrade DID "alter the fundamental functionality of the device...there were [NO] underlying issues before this update."

Unfortunately, your response does not address the fact that my alert and notification tones are silent. The haptics work.

I figured it out. I was auto connected to a bluetooth speaker that was not being used. I turned the option on that speaker to "Not Connected." That solved the problem.

However, I had been connected to that speaker when it was not in use prior to this last upgrade and I had not experienced this issue.

I had Zero issues until iOS 17.1.1 update. Apple is putting the blame on our phones and it's their software update that's causing ALL of these issues on a large spectrum of devices. They say it's the phone, um No, not when on their website they state Which phones can handle the latest iOS update. Apple, please work on a solution Even sending a Downgrade since This current iOS update is a Failure!!!!

I am so tired that tech support always seems to point the finger to the user when an update causes problems. All the folks that chimed in with the same problem, should give you proof that something is wrong with the update. I too, had zero issues before the update. Now I have the same problem that everyone else is having. I am hearing impaired, so now I have to keep my phone with me at all times. Please send a fix!!!

Sound quality of Apple iPhones has always been poor. But the 17.1.1 update has taken it to new lows. The sound of iTunes is now “tin-canny” sounding. No bass left. Volume is lower, was already too low to begin with even when maxed out. It amazes me how Apple’s attention is always focused on improving each edition of their phone with improved camera and picture taking quality while sound quality and microphones seem to be ignored. I wish it mattered what the end user/ paying customer would like to have. Sound quality ppl!! Sound quality!! plz!

I have an XR and my phone was sluggish and a few apps would crash as soon as I opened them so I decided to update my phone. Worst thing I could have done. My audio dropped by at least 50% still a little sluggish and slow not to mention keyboard issues with the autofill as I tap the word to put it in it won’t even accept it. Worst update ever. Needs major audio fixes

I have noticed that CarPlay output via USB is lower than it was previously since updating to 17.1.1. While playing music, I have to add an extra 20% on top of what my normal comfortable listening volume is on the speaker system to reach the same level. Please fix, Abble.

It's possible that my AirPods Pro 2's volume is out as well. They seem to adjust automatically at odd times, even though there is no background noise to register and adjust to.

Updated my iPhone 12 with 17.1.1 and now I have tons of issues with connectivity. I have two Apple watches that I swap between and airPod Pro 2 headphones. They used to all connect automatically with seamless functionality. Now it takes multiple attempts of opening and closing my case and putting in and taking out the AirPods before they will connect and then they will disconnect multiple times during my phone call or my listening experience or whatever it is I'm doing. It doesn't matter what app it is. my watches are slow to connect and sometimes I have to go into my Bluetooth settings and manually select the watch or the iPods or the Bluetooth connection in my car before it will actually connect to it. This problem immediately started following the update my phone had no issues before. This is an apple software problem!

Yes a fix is in the way

yes your iPhone was on automatic updates!! You had the option to turn this feature off !! It happened to me on one iPhone !! I caught it on my others !! It’s awful!! Make sure your button is off !!

if you have other iPhones !! Go to general then updates

look for automatic updates on or off button!! Switch it to off !’ That’s the issue !! You can not reverse it so do not try or else it will destroy your iPhone! Spectrum told me to go to reset’

never ever do that !! It will erase your data and other information!! ℹ️

Apple engineers ruined my phone as well! All sounds are now gone from, texts, to VM to mail and various app alerts! I spent over an hour with a senior apple adviser yesterday and his solution was "to wipe the phone clean and install new software from itunes." Unfortunately, itunes on my pc keeps coming up with error messages and my wife's macbook pro now says the files it downloaded is corrupt! you got to hate apple these days, especially after they intetionally slowed down older model phones so we'd upgrade! What a terrible company!
