Unless you are able to restart the iPad to a running state - and successfully enter your Passcode - you'll not be able to erase/reset the iPad or recover any data.

iPadOS uses an encrypted filesystem. Successful entry of the device Passcode unlocks the Secure Enclave (this being your iPad's security chip) within which the only copy of the encryption keys - that are required to access and decrypt data - are stored.

Nobody can gain access to any locally stored data without successfully entering the correct device Passcode. Even if the iPad is broken for parts, no data will be recoverable; even if the device Passcode is known, the encryption keys are securely stored within (and cannot be extracted from) the security chip.
