notifications wont show up, but all are turned on

I havent been using my phone (an SE) much this past week due to being very busy day to day so I’m not sure when this started exactly, but it was within the past few days

essentially none of my apps are sending notifications - I’ve received notifications from texts, the native iphone email app, a migraine tracking app I have, reminders, and the weekly screen report. that’s it. no twitter, no discord, no gmail, no facebook or instagram, nothing

I have notifications turned on for every app, both within the apps and within my phone’s settings, and i have scheduled summary off. I have no do not disturb/focus things turned on. I’ve restarted my phone. I’ve updated my ios. nothing has worked so far. what else can I do?

iPhone SE, iOS 17

I ended up taking my phone into an apple store because I didnt fully trust myself to wipe and reload my phone without issue, and the worker there suggested first resetting all my settings — which didnt work — and deleting and reinstalling the individual affected apps — which did! I imagine a full wipe and reload wouldve also fixed this issue, but I’m fine with individually deleting and reinstalling the apps I care to receive notifications from

thank you for your help!

I have lockscreen, notification center, and banners turned on for every app, as well as the default alert tone, and NOTHING comes through at all"

Troubleshooting Not Receiving Notifications:

A. Disable "Do Not Disturb:

You mentioned in your original reply that disabling Do Not Disturb did not work. Regardless, here it is for reference...

How to Disable Do Not Disturb:

  1. Open: Control Center (Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen).
  2. Tap: Focus
  3. Tap: Do Not Disturb (so that it is greyed-out)

B. Clear the Cashes:

Clear the storage named "System Data" (formerly called "Other"). It basically contains unnecessary files such as caches that are used for system ease of use - all of which gather over time. Use my User Tip: How to Clear "Other" in your iPhone's Storage - Use Backup - User Tips. Caches would be being used for remembrance of application use.

No success?

C. Contact Apple Support:

If neither of the above works, then contact Appel Support for assistance...

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait:
  • Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

Troubleshooting Notifications:

If Text Notifications are not occurring (as expected), then refer to the following...

  • Hearing Notifications:

Make it a quick ding sound, rather than a few seconds. If it was sent at the exact same time, expect the notifications to overlap. Sometimes, it just doest make a ding, and there's nothing to do about it.
