Do your Part: These are user-to-user forums. Apple rarely reads these forums on their own time as it is. So, provide Apple with feedback on this.  Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear of this, the more they will know what suits their customers' needs, and what features to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing your your ideas, if you don't provide them to Apple.

2. Select: "Feature Request" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that you want this to be an option, and why. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed form there as necessary

Adding Items to the iPhone Dock:

You only have 4 items on the dock. However, you can make a folder that contains however may Apps you would like, and then add that to the dock.
