My daughter moved over to Android and no longer has an iphone or uses her Apple ID. I can't seem to reset the airtag as it always ends with "airtag is associated with another Apple ID..." She signed into icloud.com but was not able to view devices and remove the airtag.
I did the batter 5x reset but it didn't work. How can I take the airtag over with my Apple ID?

She may not be still using her Apple ID, but this AirTag is still associated with it. Resetting the tag will NOT remove it from that ID.
AFAIK, Apple only provides the owner of the iPhone that was paired with an AirTag, the means to remove it from their Apple ID. Without this phone, it may not be possible.
Regardless, you can still contact Apple Support to see if they may have another solution for you. To do so, simply select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.

It would be great that Apple would include a means to remove "items" using Find My via iCloud, but they do not. Only "devices" can be removed with this method.
Apple defines AirTags as items, whereas, just about anything else are defined as devices.
She traded in her iPhone so she no longer has the phone. I assume iCloud.com would allow her to control devices connected to her ID.
