I purchased a book in the UK store, I am now based in the US and I cannot seem to access the book I have purchased. Given I can bring a physical book I have purchased anywhere in the world, it is turning me off buying ebooks and audible books given the limitations of bringing my reading material with me. Any advice on how I can access a book I have purchased?

Wondering whether or not you are still seeing the book on your Mac. What happens when you try to read it ?

Perhaps the book may be discovered on Mac via a Finder or Spotlight search, or by revealing "hidden" files.
Eg: Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support

Many of us may keep archives or back-ups of our Mac / iCloud files / purchases / etc:
eg: from Mac you may have saved files to a jump drive, external hard-drive, or used Time Machine to back up files externally. If so, you may be able to recover the book that way.
Else: If you haven't tried already: Wondering if you can still re-download the book:
(Sorry I haven't tried this myself, with books purchased in another country. Some countries do have restrictions)

Hey, it says the book is no longer available in the apple store, even though I see it in my purchase history. I can also see the book in the app, but it shows only the first 48 pages with a buy button to continue reading. When i pressed the buy button that's when it says "the book is no longer available in the apple store". Truly weird. I've contacted apple about it. Bought it again in Kindle.

Good to know you can read your book, though the "hassles" do seem weird.
(Guessing it is a lot to do with publication rights and copyrights etc.)

Normally that would be because the author/publisher has pulled it for some reason. You might want to contact them.
