IOS 17.1.1 update changed a lot of settings

Just got off the phone withe tech support. Apple has no intention of changing it back. Each contact photo will have to be re-assigned if you want it back. Major inconvenience.

Did apple ever respond anywhere as how to put the call screen back the way it was? I've been in IT for 42 years. I can never get over the "change" just for change. If they had customers that wanted the change then put the logic in ios to let those people change theirs ... leave the other billion people alone.

I concur. Super annoying for the visually impaired who count on the screen sized contact photo to identify callers.

I am so frustrated right now. I’m trying to upload photos to Instagram or Facebook and it won’t let me do so saying that I need to set the privacy setting to allow it. However, when I go ahead and try to do so, there is no option on the Photos setting to do it.

The new call screen is very poorly designed. When I go to slide the call screen up, I keep accidently cutting off calls. If there is not an undo button, please create one. We all make mistakes and this is one of yours.

Apple has screwed the pooch ever since they upgraded to 17 so I switched to manual and not automatic, but they screwed the pooch again by upgrading automatically without my permission. I guess I might have to switch to Samsung.

My phone just needs to work consistently. I don’t want a phone that gets changed and no communication from Apple of changes so I am left guessing why my phone now isn’t working. I don’t want to pay big bucks for a phone anymore. There was a simple change to turn off focus and I had no idea about this feature. Every two years I don’t want to relearn my phone.

i have an iPhone 12 and it takes unnecessary photos which makes more $ for Apple iCloud. Put the home button back on the phone…seriously it was not a good idea to take it off.

I agree entirely. Change is always a bit difficult, often very difficult. I want at least 10-15% improvement for the pain of relearning the new UI. I think it was changed to accommodate pictures of my incoming callers, but I would rather not go there. If you really want to be known for user friendly software, enable us to change it back if we want.

Please never allow twenty-something developers anywhere near UIs. They simply live on a different planet from the rest of us and lack the judgement to make these decisions.

Apple should list all the versions they have developed and let users choose which ones to use so they know which ones have properties that worked in the past and which ones have the wheels run off the tracks.

The advantage that Apple has over Microsoft is that it was user friendly and didn’t shove updates down your throats. Not sure why all these software companies don’t understand that most people don’t like change, we just want our phones to be used as phones and pc’s to be used as pc’s but here we are again, changing everything on the users. With each passing version of the iOS you are making things worse not better. Stop changing the UI, you are abandoning your customers and will lose them if you keep doing this stuff. No one wants or likes any of these updates
