I'm getting this notification and I have no idea what it means. Anyone have solutions?
Which version of FCP did this come from? The current version cannot open legacy FCP XMLs. Intelligent Assistance has a utility that can convert it into a format that the current version can open.
Some times I have seen errors in xml in that the file extension is wrong.
Perhaps you can see what it says for the item with id r39 - the xml is a text file.
Does your file extension .fcpxml or .fcpxmld?
If the former, control-click, Open With, TextEdit; if the latter, first do control-click, Show Package Contents and find an info.fcpxml inside; open that with TextEdit.
You may search for r39 and see what is there.
And if you'd like us to take a look: select all, copy; start a reply, click the "additional text" button, and paste into the text box.
What version are you using? When he exports XML from FCP there are two versions offered. Perhaps you need the older version of XML.
My nephew said he's up to date with his software and he sent this to me 2 weeks ago.
