Spam message

I got a message within Facebook that my iPad is infected with a virus that might damage my battery. It wants me to install Mystery Defender immediately to eliminate said virus. I didn’t do it as this feels like a scam.

is it in fact correct?

Yes, all such messages are scams presented by criminals. Do not interact with the message or the sender.
