Turning off phonetic sounds when texting

Whenever I text, the phonetic sound of each letter is emitted. I find this very annoying. How do you turn off this option? Thanks

Settings - Accessibility - Spoken Content - Typing Feedback - Character Feedback switch off.

I have never used this setting and it only started when I updated. Google was no help - I called Apple support and the representative had no idea how to fix it. Why is my typed text being voiced Recently, when I type a text, a voice repeats everything I type. I never had this happen before. Was this part of a recent update? It is truly annoying. How do I stop it.
