My correct password is not working on MacBook Pro

My correct password stopped working on macbook pro 2012. I have tried resetting the password and succeeded, twice. but the new password still doesnt work. I have even tried erasing mac but it gave an error message and couldnt erase

Locked Mac, Perhaps?:

Seems you are locked out of your Mac. So, your someone may have locked it through use of Find My. So, log in to iCloud.com/find, and then select your Mac from the Devices menu. Nest, select "Unlock", and proceed from there.

Reset the Password Using the Login Screen:

You'd go through your Apple ID to perform this. Find out more here: If you Forgot your Mac Login Password - Apple Support. Make sure that caps lock is not enabled when typing it. From there, you'd have a new password to use.
