Apple Music and Sync

Hi,

few days ago I activated my Apple Music profile.

I have a MacBook Pro, where I have my entire music library imported from CD's and it is synchronised via USB with my iPhone.

I would like to switch on the Sync option on Cloud to be able to download music and add/create playlists.

What will happen to my Library if I switch ON the Sync option?

Does it means that I don't need anymore to use the USB cable to sync my iPhone?

Thanks for any help

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

See:

Use Sync Library with your Apple Music subscription - Apple Support

With an Apple Music Subscription, when you enable Sync Library, all your music is uploaded to the cloud to play on all your devices. You no longer sync using the USB cable.

I strongly suggest you make a backup of your current music library in. case you want to cancel your subscription.
