How to create a new contact from a received text in Messages

Until recent updates I was able to create a new contact directly from imessage. That is to say that if I received a message from an unknown number, I could add the number to an existing contact or I could create a new contact by just tapping the sender's number and then tapping "info".... Now those choices are gone. Any suggestions on how to create a contact from an imessage without a lot of clicking around and app switching and copy/paste nonsense?

Or am I missing something obvious?

(iphone 13, ios 17.1.1)

KEEP SCROLLING! The add contact from text message feature is still there, but Apple has a spacing issue bug!

Create a Contact is at the bottom of the contact info page after scrolling through about 6 screens of gray space! This still needs to be fixed but at least I can save a contact through text messages now!

Apple has eliminated the "create new contact" feature from Text Messaging.

I click the text sender's phone number, then hit "info" and then there's a menu of options that includes "message, call, facetime, mail and pay" but no option to "create new contact."

Rebooting the phone does NOT fix this.

I can't imagine this was intentional. Had to be an oversight. But Apple is supposed to be a premium product -- it certainly charges premium prices. Apple should be more thoughtful with their updates. Mistakes like this are just sloppy.

Adding contact from inbound text. It used to be avail and I bought new phone (15 Pro Max), upgraded software (17.2.1), restarted system. I can no longer add contact by clicking "info". To option to add new contact does not exist. I've seen complaints about this on Google and in chats. I chatted with someone in Apple and he told me I should give Apple feedback. I can see I am not the only one. Does anyone have a way to make it work?

I guess it does not do much to express frustration. Does Apple support look at any of this? The result of my call with Apple was "oh, I will share your feedback" which does not help. I am losing the value gained from adding new business contacts daily. I choose not to reset and lose what I've built (others have commented on having to reset fonts and other variables). How does one go up the food chain for a fix? There have to be thousands of people in a similar position.

No, Apple does not read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let Apple know your thoughts here:

I would note that this seems to be a problem not many people are having so, it seems unlikely that it's an actual bug in iOS 17. I'm not saying you don't have a problem but the fix is unlikely to be an update in the iOS. I created an contact from a text message on Friday the same way I've done it for years. I had no problems. I'm sorry I don't know what the answer to your situation is as it sounds frustrating. I would suggest that you restore your phone to factory settings and test. Unfortunately, troubleshooting can be a long and frustrating process.

It looks to me like more than a few people are having this issue. I've been following this and similar messages since I updated IOS in November and as of today, I am rarely able to create a new contact from an inbound text. It is not a spacing issue - I have scrolled for what would be several pages in iPhone - and there are no new updates available to me.
