Maybe it's a slow connection, you can toggle iMessage off and after 10 min toggle it back on, if it's not working you can try to reset your network settings in settings>general>reset iPhone>reset>reset network connection ( you will need to re-enter your wi-fi password)
You can reset the Network connection Settings, go to Settings>General>Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network settings
