Music not working after ios17 update

I updated my ipad to ios17 two nights ago. Tried to play from a playlist yesterday, one played then it stopped, nothing would work.

I restarted the ipad, same thing happened.

I did a reset as advised, no change.

I did something else that I'm not allowed to mention, apparently (got a message saying my post had been "edited" but it was actually removed, thanks for nothing guys), also didn't work

Restarted again

Played one song from the playlist, then wouldn't play

Tried again this morning, won't play.

17.2 Has fixed the Apple Music Issue

Long update looks a full OS version as I had to complete setup again afterwards

I updated the iPhone 15 Pro Max to IOS 17.2 and the Mac Book Pro to OS Sonoma 14.2. Updates fixed most of the problems, but not all. A majority of the songs that I purchased, deleted, and downloaded again worked on both devices. However, I still had issues with some songs working on my Mac and not working on my iPhone. It's not a 100% solution, but it's better than nothing. I am surprised by how quickly Apple responded with both updates. I will have to work through the eaches.

I had the same issue with my 7th Generation iPad upon installing the ios17, Last night I accepted the iPadOS 17.2 update and upon completion all the Apple Music issues were gone. It payed through my entire playlist last night without an issue.

Recommend installing 17.2 and for those who still have an issue after doing so try restoring your system to the update prior to iPadOS 17.

How to remove downloaded software updates

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings and tap General.
  2. Select iPhone Storage or iPad Storage.
  3. Locate and tap the downloaded iOS software update.
  4. Select Delete Update and confirm you do want to delete it.

I had a great experience with Apple support concerning my issues. I downloaded the Apple Support App and got online with an assistant. The first one was not helpful—a complete disappointment and did nothing to fix my issues. I followed up with the same text message and received tremendous support. The person on the text message elevated the issue to a technician. The technician called me, and we worked individually on the telephone for the next three hours. The technician was very patient and resolved many of my issues. The technician went the extra effort to resolve my issues. This is the best support that I have ever received from any company. I recommend others get the Apple Support App and go that route to resolve issues.
