Apple TV remote up and down button no longer work but the left and right still work. In order to change channels I have to swipe up and down but would prefer the up and down buttons. I have reset, repaired and still doesn't work.
could be the microswitches under the plastic that have broken, in which case your only option is to live with it
or buy a new remote
before you spend any money if you know someone else with an appletv you can verify the remote is defect by testing it with their setup

Also be sure to check if it's fully charged. My remote wasn't 100% responsive all of a sudden, and even a quick charge seemed to fix it.
Thanks for the response. I have used the up and down buttons a lot so you might be on the money saying the I broke the switches. Since I can still swipe I'll continue to use it til I buy a new one.
Wondering if you figured out if it was broken, I have the same problem with the down button :(
