Hello! I have a real beginner question here. I try to change the white custom text color to a specific blue (47549f), going in the text box to face, clicking on "Color" to change it, putting the color code in the box, but the text color does not change. I have no clue about what I am doing wrong here. Thanks in advance for your help.

Try trashing your settings. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application. Then open the library you want. I can't reproduce the problem if the sequence is down the way you describe. Double click the text box in the timeline to select the text. Open the Face setting. Click the color box. Go to RGB Sliders. Enter the Hex value and press return.

The color changes in the box in the color picker but not the Face color box. In the color picker drag the color into the save custom color box. Try selecting the color from there. Also try, after you've set the color in the picker, clicking on the downward carat next to the Face color box for the Motion color picker. It should switch to the existing color in the system color picker.
Did you press return after your entered the hex value? It should change to the color you want.
Did you try resetting FPC settings as was suggested? That's typically the first thing to try when FCP begins behaving strangely. Hold option and command when launching FCP then choose Delete Preferences. FCP will open the default Untitled library. Re-open the library you were working in, re-configure the FCP Settings (or "Preferences" for older FCP versions) to the way you like (turn off background rendering, etc.) and see if the issue has been resolved.

LocaAlicia is correct, I even see that right after you click the color selection box it un-highlights, then the cursor vanishes for a frame or so right at 6Secs.
Are you doing anything else immediately after clicking? I've had issues sometimes with touchpads doing something like this and my hand dragging across or touching it.
Yes please. What FCP and OS version are you using? What computer?
I can't try it in that OS at the moment, but it is working for me in the French language version of 10.6.9 on the 2021 14" M1 Max MBP in Sonoma. You did trash your settings?

Immediately after clicking on the white frame (00:06), you can see that it is instantly deselected. Normally it remains selected. This is abnormal behavior.
Does it also happen with other titles, or just the "Custom" one?
Hello! ! Yes, I did press the return key of course. It changes from white to blue in the color box (see attachment) but not the text on the screen. Even though it is selected... which I find very confusing.
I, of course, did that before even asking here. ;) And that is why it is a problem because even though I click on the white square, it does change in the color box but not the text. It seems like I will have to record my screen 😅
It happens with all the titles (basic, custom,...). I can only change the titles color by using the color board_color. But the problem is that I need a specific color and I need to respect a certain color palette. with the color board, you cannot be as precise as with the Face Text where you can put the exact color code you need.
