Debit card pops up when tapping on bus

For some reason when I try to TAP on the bus my Apple wallet keeps opening to my debit card and I have to manually select my TAP card and double click the last click button. It’s really frustrating and annoying.

just for clarification I have express transit turned on for my TAP card and turned off for my debit card. I never used to have this problem. I use to just tap and go. It’s only recently that this is happening.

I have iPhone 14 Pro running the latest iOS

Default card would be popped up when near a reader, if no cards with express mode on.

You can switch on the express mode for TAP card at Setting > Wallet & Apple Pay > Express Mode, and the tap should be done smoothly next time.

I have express turned on for my bus card. But my debit card still pops up every time.

it has to be an issue with IOS 17 because I haven’t had a problem before. I used to Tap no problem and wallet never opened up before.

yes it happens when my phone is locked and unlocked. No matter what. I’ve tried tapping with wallet completely closed and my phone locked and it still pops up. I’ve tried tapping from the tap card app and wallet still pops up.
