Why did my debit card disappear from Apple Pay?

I had 2 debit cards with the same bank on Apple Pay, one of which suddenly disappeared from the screen. The error message ‘card already in wallet’ appears when I try to load it again. It is an iPhone 7, software version 15.8.3. Since one card is displayed and one from the same bank has disappeared, it can hardly be a software issue. How can I re-instate it?

Does the card show in the Previous Card section? If so, add it that way? Banks can also remove a card. Have you confirmed with the bank the card is still authorized for Apple Pay?
