New MB Air - Dock/Logitech Mouse Support
Hi All,
I recently upgraded my 2016 MacBook Pro to a 2023 MacBook Air. I love the computer so far, except for two issues that I'm looking for some assistance with.
1) I use an Anker dock which is powered by a USB-C cable and connects to an external monitor. I also have a Logitech unifying receiver plugged in. I shut down my computer every evening when traveling home and plug it back into the dock every morning. With my MB Pro, the computer would automatically boot and I was able to log-in with an external keyboard/mouse without having to open the lid. When I plug in the MB Air, the computer will not boot, even after pressing the keyboard and mouse buttons. I can only initiate a boot by opening the lid and closing it after seeing the log-in screen. I contacted Apple support via chat and they could not resolve the issue. Any advice on how I can initiate a boot when plugging into the dock, without opening the lid?
2) I've been using a Logitech M705 for years (via unifying receiver) and have two buttons custom programmed using the Logi app. Each time I boot, the custom button settings don't stick. The only way to trigger them is to unplug and replug the unifying receiver from the dock. Once done, this restores the custom button function. Never had this issue with the MB Pro, but am running into it daily with the MB Air. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Logi software multiple times and have not had luck fixing it.
My iOS is current and the Logi software is as well. I've tried subbing my dock for the official Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport adapter and also purchased a brand new Anker dock, but still run into the same issues.
Any assistance you can provide in resolving these issues would be appreciate.
Thanks,
Michael
