Anyone familiar with Lighthouse Nightingale Extension on iOS 17?

Hello:

I'm trying to debug, and potentially identify a piece of malware, on my iPhone 13 Pro, running iOS 17.1. I am using Xcode's Instruments > System Activity feature to identify running processes that do not have a clear origin. One of them is LighthouseNightingaleExtension, running with permissions level 500. Google turns up two different products in the wild called Lighthouse Extension; however, it is unclear what they do precisely or whether the search results are related to this system process. Searching for "Lighthouse Nightingale" or "LighthouseNightingale", with quotations, turns up zero results in Google.

The System Activity report specifically states: "500 LighthouseNightingaleExtension (500) launchd (1)"

rather than ask my own question, similar to this one, let’s see if we can’t just revive it.
anyone have any suggestions as to what this process might be?

There isn't anyone on this forum who is qualified to answer these kinds of questions. Even if you want into an Apple Store, the staff there are trained in only basic troubleshooting. We've all seen many of these posts. You aren't going to get the problem fixed on a web forum like this. You also aren't going to get it fixed in your local mall.

Thankfully, Apple has recognized the problem and is working with experts to help people affected. See this new Apple Support document: About Apple threat notifications and protecting against mercenary spyware - Apple Support

It includes links to 3rd party, non-profit security assistance organizations that are dedicated to helping people with this specific problem.
