How do I switch between email accounts to read different emails on my MacBook?

Each email account will have its own identifier/name in the left panel ... just click the one for which you want to read the emails in it.
If you see no mail boxes, you need to expand the list by hovering the mouse pointer over the account name and clicking the expansion icon:
